Woronora Carnival 2014

Woronora Carnival 2014

Woronora Carnival 2014 was held on Sunday 9 November. Congratulations to all members of Enfield Life Saving Club for an amazing effort at the Woronora interclub carnival. This wonderful carnival is hosted by Woronora Life Saving and River Patrol Club and is held on the Woronora River. Our only interclub carnival not held in a pool, events include beach flags, distance swims, paddle boarding and distance runs.

It was great to see everyone having a go and doing their best. Special congratulations to all our new and younger members (as well as the more mature participants) who all entered events in great spirit.

Life Saving Award Training under way!

Life Saving Award Training under way!

Life Saving Award training is under way – real life rescue situations are simulated and coaching is given so members learn how to respond to different kinds of (often challenging!) situations. Members of various ages (from age 7 to 45) are undergoing life saving Award training in order to achieve their Royal Life Saving Award.

Award training is the most important part of what we do at Enfield Life Saving Club and it is great to see members working together in the pool practising water safety and rescue techniques.

2014/15 lifesaving season kicked off on 11 October 2014 and Enfield Life Saving Club has had a terrific start. This season, Enfield Life Saving Club welcomed several new members and it’s been wonderful to see the return of many families.

Team captains this season are Aodhan Hannigan and Stefanie Goodyer, both very experienced competitors and dedicated members to our club. We look forward to a successful season and continued growth in membership.

Australian Pool Life Saving Championships 2014

Australian Pool Life Saving Championships 2014

Australian Pool Life Saving Championships (APLSC) were held in Canberra in January 2014. A large team from Enfield Life Saving Club competed in the Championships with several members achieving personal bests.

Well done and congratulations to all members who competed and contributed to a great experience for all competitors.

An exceptional effort from our  U/16 girls in the CPR, with three of our girls taking out Gold, Silver and Bronze! Our Open SERC team (Simulated Emergency Rescue Competition) was outstanding in winning Gold. Congratulations also to Troy Rackyleft for winning Gold and Silver in several events.
